Step behind the Game Master's screen and unlock the power of storytelling! In this immersive week-long camp, students ages 12–17 will learn how to craft and run unforgettable tabletop roleplaying adventures, guided by Ennie Award–nominated Game Master Kyle Ott.

Each day blends engaging lessons with hands-on gameplay, giving students the skills and confidence to lead their own campaigns in any RPG system. Whether you're brand new to game mastering or looking to level up your skills, this camp turns creativity into immersive storytelling.

What You’ll Learn

• How to be an effective and confident Game Master (GM)
• The core elements of most tabletop RPG systems
• Storytelling techniques, including pacing, narrative structure, and player engagement
• How to build compelling worlds, characters, and encounters
• The art of improvisation and responding to player choices
• Running action scenes and balancing group dynamics
• Tools and tips for planning and running long-term campaigns

Important Details

• Ages: Open to all players aged 12-17
• Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Lunch break from 12:00 – 1:00 PM)
• Lunch: Not provided. Please bring your own lunch each day.

Sample Schedule

• 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Instructional Workshop
  Topics include storytelling, world-building, encounter design, improvisation, and rules mastery. Students participate in creative exercises and build their own settings and scenarios.
• 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM: Lunch Break
• 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Live Campaign Play
  Students join a five-day roleplaying campaign led by Kyle Ott. Each day, campers take turns stepping into the role of Game Master to apply their new skills and guide the story.
